Visitors will register when they are invited to a page
Although this is a community, privacy and safety are our highest concerns. We do not contact any member. We do not sell or share any information about our members, including email addresses. If you have a long-term illness or condition that would prevent you from attending school or just hanging out with your friends, we invite you to sign up so your friends and family can leave you messages and you can keep them updated on your life. Only patients need to register here to get your personal page. All your visitors will register when they go to your page. Registration is only for security and privacy. Once again, we will not use any information you provide us, unless absolutely necessary.
We do have our own community guidelines that we require all members to follow whether you are a patient or a guest.

If you belong here we will do everthing we can to protect you and leave you alone.
If you don't belong here, you are not entitled to any protection from us.
Our General policies
We refer to the person who is the focus of your page as the "patient" no matter the reason they are using this site. We refer to the adult who is helping the patient with this site as the "adult". Anyonee who is here in support of the patient is referred to as a "visitor". This site is free for all users: patients or visitors. There is no obligation to donate money to this site or any sponsor site or any patient's charity to use this site. If anyone solicites you for a donation, report this violation to us. No users may attract donations or contributions or sell anything on this site.
This is an online support community. All communications sent through this site must be positive and relate to the patient you are visiting. The focus of this site is keeping friends connected, not fundraising of any type. No one should ask anyone else on this site to donate to any organization. Patients may post a link to their favorite charities or other sites related to their illness, but not visitors. Visitors should direct all their messges to the patient, not to other messages or people, including other visitors. Foul, abusive, threatening, or inappropriate language will not be tolerated. If you represent a patient, please make regular updates. We know you already have more to deal with than you need, but just as the patient enjoys the words of encouragement, the visitors appreciate being kept up to date, also.
Visitors may only visit patient pages they were invited to. Patients deserve to maintain their community of friends without giving up their privacy. Visitors are only permitted on the general information pages, guest books they were invited to, and update blogs they were invited to. When we add pictures, visitors may only view picture galleries they are invited to. Visitors may only leave messages on guest books they were invited to. Before any visitor does any of this, they must register. Registering is only for the safety and protection of the whole community. We will not use your email unless necessary. We will not sell or distribute your email to anyone. Every visitor must have their own user name attached to an active email address. Visitors may not distribute a patient's private page without the patient or their adult representative's permission. The page name is a private entrance that only the patient should open to visitors.
In most cases, we do not get involved with removing a post that is only objectionable because someone disagress with it. We will not respond to say that we are not removing a post. Patients and their representative may request any post to be removed and any user to be banned. We will honor those requests without qualification. If we see something inappropriate, we will remove it, but we do not regularly monitor the boards for this purpose.
By posting any message or content on our web site, you agree that Power 2 Believe, its sponsors, and its representatives is not liable for an consequence including but not limited to other people learning private and personal information about you. You accept full responsibility for any post you make. Anything you write can be shown or seen by anyone. Keep that in mind in your messages. We cannot control what others will read or write or forward using our site.
Our policies for patients to create a page
In addition to the policies above, patients and their representatives must follow these guidelines. The purpose of this board is to help friends and family feel connected to the progress of the patient. We ask that patients or a representative make regular updates for the visitors. Even a little note will be appreciated. Also, please allow the patient access to their messages of encouragement. This can be done by printing out pages from the guest book, regularly logging in with the patient to see the support offered here, or reading the messages to the patient.
This is a private community. The patient or adult should know everyone who posts a message - not just online but in real life. Solicitation, proposals, or any form of communication not directed at encouraging the patient is forbidden and should be reported immediately to the administrator. No one should try to get you to visit their web site or email or call them that you do not know. For the protection of all members, please report anything suspicious.
We insist on honesty. Do not use these pages for personal gain. Only register if you genuinely have a child or are a child has will be away from friends for an extended period of time due to illness or other medical conditions. This page is not a general interest web site, like myspace or xanga. If you are looking for new friends, please visit those sites.
You may include a link to your favorite charity or contact information for donations, but the focus of this site is to promote a sense of community, not fundraising.
We ask you some personal information in the application below. The reason we ask for the patient's birthday is so we can promote it (that is a future project) to your visitors and because this page is for young people. There are other sites geared toward adults. The reason we ask about the adult moderating the page, a security question, and the state you live in is help identify you in the future if there is any question about who is who. We don't have the resources or ability to verify identity and accuracy of anything said by visitors or patients. We will either trust the adult moderator or may override their decision and erase the message in question.
Page names must not contain a last name. If you use the patient's first name, you must include something else, a number, another word, or initials to make it difficult to guess. Do not include your city in the name. Make it easy for your visitors to remember but unique enough that it cannot be guessed.
We reserve the right to ammend these policies as we need. At any time if you do not agree with the current policies, you may have your page removed or your account deactivated. You must check the box at the bottom to indicate that you agree with these policies.
